CEDAR TEA INFUSION

My previous post will give you an idea of where the inspiration for this came from...I was appreciating my walk in the lush BC forest and the idea of a lung tonic came to mind. I remembered how years ago I partook in a weekend sweat lodge retreat and we drank cedar tea before the ceremony as part of the cleansing. So I kindly borrowed some cedar leaves to make an infusion.

The benefits are a perfect fit for smoky air exposure plus all the other respiratory ailments to consider right now. Cedar leaves will help cleanse your respiratory system clearing excess mucous and defending you from external pathogens. It’s also high in vitamin c.

This is so easy to make...take your cedar leaves, break them up (without the bark), crush them lightly, pour hot water over, steep for 10-15 minutes and voila. You have a yourself an excellent lung tonic. To get even more nutrients from the leaves, simmer over the stove for 10-15 minutes. You can also throw the leaves in a large jug filled with water, leave it overnight and drink the next day for a similar effect.
