Acupuncture is a very effective treatment in conjunction with fertility treatments. It can treat conditions that can interfere with getting pregnant (such as endometriosis) or increase the chances of successful assisted fertility treatments. Acupuncture can also help lower overall stress levels, which can help increase fertility hormones like progesterone. Sarah has had numerous success stories with her acupuncture treatments!

Acupuncture offers a safe, effective and drug free treatment option during pregnancy. It can help treat nausea during pregnancy, musculoskeletal pain, and hypertension. Acupuncture can also be used for breech and/or posterior babies, labour preparation, induction, and pain relief during labour. Postnatal acupuncture involves care for conditions such as insufficient lactation, wound healing and scar tissue repair, postpartum support and urinary incontinence.

Three to four weeks prior to the due date a treatment to prepare the pelvis and cervix can be commenced. This is followed by one treatment per week until labour begins. Research from Germany indicated the potential for a more efficient active stage of labour A New Zealand study with midwives indicated a reduction in women requiring medical intervention, including medical induction and cesarean section.

Induction Acupuncture can provide a gentle inducement to labour if the baby is overdue and can be an effective alternative to a medical induction. Research from Norway on the use of acupuncture for women with premature rupture of membranes (PROM) concluded that “Ideally acupuncture treatment should be offered to all women with PROM and other women who wish to use this method to facilitate their birth and keep it normal”.

Fertility massage is designed as a protocol to enhance a couple's potential to conceive naturally or with assisted reproductive technology. The intention is to support the body in cleansing, reducing stress hormones, balancing reproductive hormones, and stimulating the reproductive organs. A session can include cranial sacral holds, colon decongesting, castor oil packs, pelvic massage, uterus positioning, reflexology, acupressure, and fertility charting. First visit requires an in-depth assessment and treatment lasting up to 90 minutes and the client should be between the menstrual phase of period and ovulation.
We offer a Pregnancy cushion that allows room for your tummy to fit comfortably or our therapists can do a side-lying massage (laying you on your side). Our tables also semi-recline and can also elevate the lower leg table area so that you can feel comfortable semi-reclined.
Receiving Massage therapy is safe and beneficial during pregnancy. Many women enjoy the skilled care of a massage therapist to help alleviate back, neck, and shoulder pain associated with changes in the body during pregnancy. The general benefits of increased circulation and enhanced well-being are valuable therapeutic effects. Must be 12 weeks or further along.
