Lymphatic Drainage

Offering Lymphatic Drainage to Fort Saskatchewan, Strathcona County, Edmonton and area clients.

Lymphatic drainage is a technique designed to stimulate the flow of lymph (a fluid that transports white blood cells, oxygen, and nutrients to tissues throughout the body). Also referred to as "manual lymph drainage" or "lymphatic massage", lymphatic drainage typically involves gentle, circular movements. Since the lymph system serves as a central part of the immune system, proponents of lymphatic drainage suggest that this technique can help treat a variety of health concerns.

     What is Lymphatic Drainage Massage?
  • A massage technique that combines timing, pressure and direction to stimulate lymphatic circulation and unleash the body’s natural ability to rejuvenate and resist stress.
  • It employs mild mechanical stretching of connective tissue to facilitate decongestion of the lymphatic system.
  • Improved flow of regenerative fluid promotes the clearance of toxins and faster healing of damaged tissues.

How does it work?

In basic terms, it increases lymphatic flow. Harmful substances are removed from the tissues and neutralized in the lymph nodes, and the production of lymphocytes is stimulated, enhancing immune function. Lymphatic Drainage also stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system via the relaxation effect, reducing pain by sedating the sensory nerve endings and allowing tight muscles to relax.

Lisa Jensen, RMT, Lymphatic Drainage Therapy Level 2

I experienced Lymphatic drainage for the first time yesterday. I have an autoimmune disorder, have been hearing all of Lisa's clients walk out of the clinic raving this treatment. I thought, what do I have to lose? The moment Lisa turned down the lights and the room was quiet I was at peace. Lisa started my lymphatic drainage treatment and I could feel instant results. Her hands are gentle, she is so knowledgeable and truly it was like magic. I have never felt more relaxed then she made me feel during my appointment. My congestion eased up helping me perform better throughout my day. I am 💯 going for a follow up.
