Lymphatic Drainage Follow Up
Lymphatic Drainage Follow Up
This is just a friendly follow up email regarding your recent lymphatic drainage treatment. Included in this email are some tips to help shorten/decrease your lymphatic detox symptoms, some of the side effects you may have noticed, as well as a recommended future treatment plan.
Drink lots of water ( at least half of your body weight in ounces) ie: (body weight in lbs) / by 2 = X ounces of water you should drink per day
Also, stay away from processed foods as these may present toxic reactions and prevent you from getting the most out of your treatment.
Avoid caffeine/ alcohol as these are diuretics and will decrease the lymphatic flow (which is counter-productive to your treatment)
Increase your fresh veggie and fruit intake
Get lots of rest
Most importantly - pay attention to your body and don't over-do it!
Shortly after a lymphatic treatment ( within the first day or 2) it is very common to experience the following symptoms:
Drowsiness
Nausea
Sinus congestion
Increased digestion/ bowel movements
lightheadedness
Increased swelling in the problem site or other regions in the body,
Increased thirst
Irritability (especially if there has been work on the liver)
The symptoms usually subside after about 24-48 hours and typically you will be left feeling lighter, well rested and full of energy. If you have noticed that your symptoms have improved/subsided since your visit, then your body is likely very in tune with this treatment and it is something worth receiving throughout the year.
It is recommended that the average person come in about 4 times a year for lymphatic drainage for 60 minutes or 90 minutes. I like to suggest coming in before season changes as this is usually when viruses/allergies start presenting themselves and therefore the lymphatic system is in need of a boost to encourage top functionality of the immune system.
